The town of Beachmere has great facilities for the local community,
Beachmere Village Shopping Centre is the centre for groceries and much of our essential services. The IGA is the hub of shopping in town and gives tremendous support to local producers and to community organisations.
In the Village Shopping Centre, there are also;
- a medical centre,
- a dentist,
- pathologist,
- the Discount Drugs Pharmacy
- a discount store
- a bakery
In smaller shopping strips around town, health centre/doctors’ surgeries, hairdressers, massage centre, podiatrist, real estate agencies, and accountants look after our personal & health needs.
The Post Office is found at the rear of the shopping centre at the roundabout. Park behind the Service Station. In this shopping comp[ex, which wraps around the corner of Beachmere and Bishop Roads are a a coffee shop, deli, Pizza outlet and Take-away. Around the corner, entry to the carpark from Bishop Rd are a butcher, clothing store, hairdresser, massage therapist, clothing store, physiotherapist and podiatrist,
Around Beachmere, the Beachmere Tavern and Bottle Shop, the Beachmere Motel and Caravan Park, Beach Hut Cafe and Silver Spoon Restaurant ensure that our food and hospitality requirements are well taken care of, There are several Community Halls and The Beachmere Hub, where social and cultural events and community meetings are held on a regular basis. We pretty well have all our needs covered without having to leave town.
Community Groups
There are a number of local organisations and services available to residents of Beachmere Sands:
Beachmere Area Network Group (BANG)
BANG holds events, forums and celebrations for the local community throughout the year. New members are always welcome. Lots of information on their website. https://www.bang.org.au BANG also administers The Beachmere Hub and can be contacted for details of how to book the facility for your own events or celebrations.
Beachmere Art Society
This group is in its early days, but is being enthusiastically supported by local artists. Its aim is to support, encourage and share knowledge and skills among artists in Beachmere. Keep an eye on their Facebook page for information.
RSL Beachmere Sub-Branch
There is an active Branch of the RSL in Beachmere. ANZAC Day and Remembrance Day are celebrated at the War Memorial in Clayton Park. Both are well attended by Beachmere townsfolk.
U3A Beachmere
The University of the Third Age, provides membership and classes for those entering the Third Age of their life (retirement, semi-retirement and senior status). The U3A Beachmere Office is at the Hub on Main St (near the bowling green). Arts, crafts, health, lifestyle, exercise and the humanities courses are available for 4 Terms each year at a low cost. Teaching is provided by volunteers and if you can share your particular interests or skill you will be very welcome as a tutor. Anyone who can lend a hand as an office or events volunteer can be assured of great friendship and companionship.

Community Services
There are a number of MBRC services available to residents of Beachmere Sands:
Rubbish removal – Each Friday morning. Place your bins outside your villa. The general refuse bin (red lid) is emptied every week. The Recycling bin (yellow lid) is emptied every second week.
Mobile Library – The Moreton Bay Council Mobile Library visits Beachmere each week on Friday morning. The Library Bus parks in the car park opposite The Beach Shak Cafe on Biggs Ave. You can join the library at the Library Bus. Members also have access to a vast range of eBooks and eAudiobooks online through the Moreton Bay Libraries website.
Healthy and Active – Moreton Bay Regional Council runs a number of programs of free learning and activities for Seniors. Go to Moreton Bay Council website and search for Healthy and Active and Older and Bolder.
